The latest 2021 Athena cylinder kit with 70cc and 47.6mm bore for 12mm piston pin suitable for scooters with vertical 2T Minarelli engine like MBK Booster, Yamaha BW's or Aprilia SR.
With this cylinder, Athena has succeeded in a real revolution in the 2-stroke range for air-cooled Minarelli engine. Due to the flange mount assembly directly on the crankcase, the stud bolts are eliminated, hereby it was possible to realize side exhaust ports and a very large oval exhaust! The intake port was redesigned and now has a CNC-milled fifth channel.
Through extensive analysis and testing of the cylinder, but also years of experience in racing, the performance in terms of power and torque was greatly improved and reached for the first time ever values in the range up to 19HP with a series produced 70cc 2T AC cylinder for Minarelli engines!
In the USA the Minarelli Vertical is found in 1988-2001 Yamaha Zuma often called the Pre-Bug models and Yamaha CA / CW 50cc Scooters. Will work on Yamaha Riva CA 50 and Vertical Minarelli scooters sold in the USA such as Adly. Works on all Minarelli Vertical BWs sold in Canada and Caribbean. Check before ordering what piston pin size you have 10mm or 12mm depending on country or year you might have 10mm or 12mm. It is the buyers responsibility to double check before ordering.
The numerous innovative technical solutions (patent pending) introduced in this project allow this engine to achieve performance never before achieved without porting. However, this power can only be transmitted through crankshafts with a 12mm piston pin.
