Tapered roller bearings have a larger contact surface and are therefore considerably more loadable than the conventional factory solutions with ball bearings. Tapered roller bearings can therefore cope much better with the high loads of powerful brake systems and are also much more wear-resistant.

They increase active driving safety by ensuring the ideal state of smooth, non-latching steering for a very long time. A criterion that will become apparent at the latest at the next TÜV inspection.

The steering bearings are available for top or bottom as well as in a set. They replace the conventional head bearings including bearing shells completely.

NOTE:The upper BGM taper roller bearing is higher than an original one. Therefore, a locknut cannot be used to prevent rotation as with the original bearing. For locking, the thread is designed to be self-locking, i.e. it is cut narrower and can therefore be scraped tighter than an original part. Additionally, screw locking can be used. Then adjust the bearing clearance and position the steering head on the upper bearing ring so that no distance is visible between the two.
