Wire harness BGM ORIGINAL suitable for all Vespa PX models up to 1982.
Italian version without battery. In this version, the displays, the horn and all other consumers are supplied with power directly from the AC electrical system. The ignition base plate used on these vehicles has only 3 wires (models with contact ignition) or 5 wires (vehicles with electronic ignition).
Conversion (WITHOUT BATTERY)
This wiring harness is ideal for converting vehicles equipped with a battery from the factory to a simple and basic electrical system without battery. For this purpose, the version with all switches included is the best choice (BGM6685KT).

VOLTAGE REGULATOR
Basically, the simple 3-pole voltage regulator (L/G/M) is used with this wiring harness (ex. B. 9100001). The 5-pin voltage regulator (A/A/B+/G/M) originally used on vehicles shipped from the factory with a battery can still be used. Only the terminals B+ and G remain without assignment (formerly charging current for the battery). A better alternative is the compact and powerful voltage regulator BGM Pro (BGM6690). This can provide e.g. a USB socket with 12 V DC for charging mobile phone/navi etc.
Ingnition base plate /LIMA
The 5-cable type is used as ignition base plate (also recognizable by the blue-black cable of the single voltage supply). The original Lima with 7 cables of the models with battery can no longer be used. However, these very often show age-related damage to the cable insulation anyway. A conversion to the more powerful ignition plate of the newer Lusso models (e.g.: BGM8025N or BGM8032N) is therefore strongly recommended. This will significantly increase the overall light output of the AC system, as no more current is diverted to charge the batteries. Thus, even older PX models can be equipped with a 35/35W lamp. Most alternators with five wires have a round plug. The wiring harness offered here has (as in the original Italian) 6.3mm flat plugs. Here the wiring harness can be converted to a round plug or the ignition base plate can be converted to a flat plug. The necessary parts are in the accessories.
BLINKRELAY
Battery-powered models use a DC (direct current) flasher relay.
After conversion, an AC (alternating current) flasher relay is required (e.g. 1195703).
